Calling all tango dancers!
Discover how to improvise without overthinking & express your creativity on the dance floor with:
The Tango Improvisation Online Weekend

There's nothing more powerful than traditional tango music
As a dance based on improvisation, tango gives you the freedom to express your creativity & individuality.
Yet, despite its beauty, tango can also be challenging to dance to.
Even though you're a tango dancer with experience dancing in milongas, you can often find yourself -
- Stuck in your own head overthinking every step instead of being in the flow of the music
- Repeating the same steps because you don't know how to improvise (and worrying you’re boring)
- Struggling to understand the different layers of tango musicality (and connect your movements to the music)
- Feeling like a puppet who is forced to follow the rigid movements of the leader, instead of expressing your creativity
But it doesn't have to be this way!
When you truly understand tango musicality and how to connect your movements to the music, you’ll be able to unlock ALL the possibilities offered by traditional tango
Whether you are a leader or a follower, you will be able to:
- Be more creative on the dance floor
- Improvise to your heart’s content without getting stuck in your head
- Connect meaningfully with your partner
- Become the great, musical dancer you’ve always wanted to be
And we're going to show you how!
Introducing:
The Tango Improvisation Online Weekend
A virtual, 2-day experience where we give you the tools & knowledge to connect your movements to the music and unlock all the possibilities tango has to offer
Saturday 30th April & Sunday 1st May 2022

I'm convinced that anyone who learns from Pablo will become a good dancer - for sure! Pablo is not only a brillant dancer himself, but also a very skillful and patient teacher who attaches importance to detail.

Merle Morgan
Pablo was my first Argentine Tango instructor. He was amazing! From my first lesson, he instilled his passion for the dance and I learned so much and so quickly that I was dancing at the Milonga in less than 2 weeks.

Ken Speed
Excellent instruction and friendly people.
Over the course of a weekend, you’ll discover a whole new way of approaching tango β
One that empowers you to truly improvise without overthinking and express your creativity!
Here’s what our time together will look like:
Saturday, 30th April 2022
Hour 1: How to Understand the Different Layers of Tango Music (And Make Your Dancing More Exciting)
To truly learn how to dance traditional tango, you need to understand the different layers and complexities of tango music. Otherwise, you’ll always end up dancing to the rhythm (which gets pretty boring after a while!).
In this session, you’ll discover:
- How to hear the different layers in your favourite tango song (counter melody, melody, rhythmic bass, musical bridge, etc)
- How to connect your movements to the different layers of music so you can unlock more possibilities of tango dancing
- How to get in the flow of the music and let the song inspire your steps
Hour 2: How to Connect Your Movements to the Music (Using the Simplest of Steps)
In this session, we will play a specific part of a song and show you all the different movements you can make.
You’ll discover:
- New ideas & inspiration for how to improvise your own movements
- How to make even the simplest steps shine—by connecting them to the music in a way that helps you express your individuality
- All the different possibilities that are offered to you as dancers
Sunday, 1st May 2022
HOUR 3: How to Create Multiple Variations Using Fundamental Movements
Did you know it’s possible to get creative and improvise a whole new routine using even the most fundamental tango moves?
By adjusting the speed, length, quality & repetition of ONE movement, you’ll be able to open up a whole world of possibilities for your dancing.
In this session, you’ll discover:
- Why you don’t need to spend more time and money learning fancy new moves
- How to spice up even the simplest steps by adjusting the speed, length and quality of the movement
HOUR 4: How to Use Decorations to Express Your Creativity
Decorations & embellishments are powerful for helping you communicate to your partner how you feel about the music, and have some fun as well!
In this session, you’ll discover:
- What decorations to use depending on the music
- How to use decorations to add showmanship, flair, and creativity to your dancing
- How to be more playful & fun
Hour 5: Live Q&A with Pablo & Anne
Get clarity on your most pressing tango questions!
This is your chance to ask us anything about the world of tango. Whether that’s asking us how to lead your partner with confidence, troubleshoot why a specific movement isn’t working, or asking us to demonstrate another variation β we’re all ears!

Meet Your Instructors
Hi! We’re Pablo and Anne.
With over 27 years of combined teaching experience, we know that improvising without overthinking is something so many tango students struggle with.
Since we started teaching online 5 years ago, we’ve trained over 20,000 students. And over and over again, we hear them sayβ
“I’m always stuck in my head when I’m dancing!”
That’s why we created this simple, but in-depth, workshop weekend where we will teach you:
how you can dance to the different layers of tango music and express your individuality on the dance floor.
Our mission is to help you rely less on the steps, and instead discover how to go with the flow of the music and move as one with your partner.
We hope you join us and look forward to seeing you there!
